How
does it work?
 A steel wheel
approximately 30 in diameter with attached carbide tipped
teeth, resembling fingers, spins at 2,000 rpm (rotations per
minute). Its lowered
down into the front of the stump to the desired depth below
ground level. Then it is worked from side to side through the stump
advancing slowly until there is no stump left. When finished nothing is left but a pile
of chips.
Pricing for stump grinding is
determined by which machine will be used for your
project.
A towed
stump grinder is great for getting to more accessible
stumps and finishing quicker. Backed into the stump by a small
Toyota pickup, the path to the stump must be at least 8 feet
wide with room to maneuver in turns.
Our self-propelled
machine excels at getting into tight
spots around plantings, and is able to go through standard 36
fence gates to get into back yards. Riding on rubber tracks,
this machine is lighter (approximately 4 lbs per square inch)
than the human foot on the ground!
